Day 01: Airport to Habarana via Dambulla

Welcome to Sri Lanka!

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver.

Begin your journey towards the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. En route, visit the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its ancient Buddhist murals and statues.

Continue to Habarana and check in to your hotel. In the Afternoon go for a Traditional village tour in Hiriwadunna.

After breakfast at your hotel in Habarana, proceed to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After breakfast at hotel, checkout and Continue to the scenic Ravana Falls, a spectacular waterfall cascading alongside the main road, before visiting the ancient Buduruwagala Temple, renowned for its impressive rock-cut Buddha statues dating back over a thousand years.

 

Continue your journey along Sri Lanka’s beautiful southern coastline to Mirissa, where you’ll stop at the famous Coconut Tree Hill, one of the island’s most photographed viewpoints overlooking the Indian Ocean. Spend some time relaxing at the golden sands of Mirissa Beach.

 

Afterwards, proceed to Galle and check in to your hotel.

In the evening, explore the charming Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in colonial history. Wander through its picturesque Dutch Streets, admire the iconic Galle Lighthouse, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of its boutique cafés, art galleries, and souvenir shops.

Continue to Bentota for a relaxing Madu River Boat Safari, cruising through one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful wetland ecosystems. Explore its winding waterways, mangrove forests, and small islands while spotting a variety of birds, reptiles, and other wildlife.

 

After the safari, proceed to Colombo and check in to your hotel.

Continue to the elegant Independence Square, a symbol of Sri Lanka’s independence, and, if time allows, explore the National Museum, home to an extensive collection of the island’s rich cultural and historical treasures.

 

Before heading to the airport, enjoy some last-minute shopping, where you can pick up authentic Sri Lankan souvenirs, Ceylon tea, spices, gemstones, handicrafts, and local delicacies to take home.
